Edgar Ramírez condujo el viaje de la “Cantata criolla”

Gustavo Dudamel dirigió el espectáculo en el que también participó Helen Hunt

Emocionado. Así estaba Edgar Ramírez a pocas horas del estreno de la Cantata Criolla en el Walt Disney Hall de Los Ángeles. Había cansancio luego de cinco días de trabajo intensivo, incluso, en la casa de Helen Hunt. Ayer, en un descanso del ensayo general, accedió a conversar brevemente en torno a la superproducción dirigida por Gustavo Dudamel al frente de la Filarmónica de aquella ciudad, así como de sus proyectos cinematográficos.

Dudamel y el cineasta merideño Alberto Arvelo integran danza, teatro y cine en una interpretación de la obra cumbre del venezolano Antonio Estévez, en contexto con obras de Copland y Ginastera.

“Lo que estamos haciendo es un espectáculo multimedia. El festival se llama American and Americas y tiene que ver con una celebración de la americanidad… Helen, Erich Wildpret y yo hacemos todo un viaje por los sonidos, por los paisajes de América toda, desde Dickinson hasta Borges, desde Elliot hasta García Márquez… Te podrás imaginar la emoción que tenemos de estar: Gustavo dirigiendo, con varios músicos que se trajeron para la interpretación de los instrumentos típicos venezolanos, Beto haciendo todo el montaje del espectáculo, Erich y yo… Es maravilloso”.

El actor confirmó la admiración que tiene Helen Hunt hacia el director de orquesta venezolano. “No nos conocíamos. Helen es una gran fan del trabajo de Gustavo y también de la música clásica… Es una mujer muy sensible, culta, una persona con vasta cantidad de información…”, contó Ramírez.

La noche del miércoles, el histrión asistió al preestreno de Habana Eva, la más reciente película de Fina Torres, para la cual no se reservó elogios. “No es que me gustó ¡Me fascinó! La película es maravillosa. De verdad que Fina se botó”.

Ramírez confesó que siempre ha habido un flirteo entre la cineasta y él para trabajar juntos pero no se ha concretado proyecto alguno. Lo que sí va más adelantado es la película que producirá junto a Haik Gazarian (Venezzia) sobre un romance que se desarrolla en el ambiente de las telenovelas venezolanas de los años 80.

A mediados de mayo viajará a Cannes, donde se proyectará la película del terrorista venezolano Illich Ramírez, alias Carlos el Chacal, realizada por el francés Olivier Assayas.
